The Community Health Committee shall oversee policies, plans, and programs that affect the quality of life of our residents including the protection and enhancement of natural environment, water conservation program, public health, human services, climate preparedness, solid waste, libraries, and parks. Additionally, the Committee shall oversee activities related to the stewardship of San Antonio’s unique artistic, cultural, and historic heritage, to include recommending opportunities to maximize this sector as an economic driver. This Committee will create a Behavior Health subcommittee focused on enhancing this critical resource in our community. Additionally, this Committee will create a subcommittee focused on Youth Health (18 years old and younger). Our community is medically under-served and under-insured. We must consider how the City can ensure we have healthy kids in every part of the city.
